My grandfather has been in the hospital for almost 3 weeks now, and he was moved to the ICU today.
He is suffering from Septicemia and we are praying very hard for him to fight the infection and get better.
Please, pray for him and my Grandmother. Their 60th wedding anniversary is next year and we love them very very much.

The brown wig was cute, but I dunno if it's really Loren. Sorta short on photo time right now, so I agreed to let her try just one more wig for photos. She picked an XtremeDolls strawberry mohair wig. I do like it on her, but the "prett dress" look isn't working for me. She needs a slim skirt & boots.

Still mad with love for this boy. More ideas for photos and costuming. I bought new eyes this morning. *chortles just thinking about how cool they are* And I'm thinking about my second Sard....and who he is going to be. Ideas humming in my brain like a bee hive!
In the meantime, me = model of efficiency. Wedding album - done. SF maternity session - done, waiting to build album. Black decorative rock for yard - found and waiting for it to be delivered. CuteBoys(tm) to cut down more trees this weekend - hired. Community Newsletter - printed. Lalalalalala. I like efficiency. But note that all this crazy getting things doneness is happening outside the brain box - not much going on inside. And I suppose that's okay, for a while. I don't like to get too dry in there....but I've got so much going on out here....and there are only so many hours in the day....But I do really want to get back to the ol' keyboard.

So much for reducing the doll group. I couldn't resist this pretty Dollndoll Loren head that Jacquie was recently selling. She arrived today and grabbed the closest wig, a JPop Shae style. Then she checked out the clothing and chose an outfit I had gotten off Ebay from HappydollUS. I'm not sure if this is her look, but it'll do for now.

Just got back in town a few hours ago - did a quick overnighter in SF to shoot my girlfriend's maternity session. Much fun was had, good food eaten, fantastic wine drank, superb conversation held, and I wish I'd had more time. I really need to get down there to hang with my abjd SF friends! And I definitely need to set up the domestic situ here so that I can actually leave without total meltdown being the result on the homefront. Bah. They didn't do too badly - pizza for dinner and much motorcycle riding. The girl kidling is now saying she wants to learn to ride and the boy kidling is wanting a Ninja. This makes me all manner of unhappy. I really need to spend some serious contemplative time considering the motorcycle options for my children.
I sat out on the deck and sewed up the new, furry leggings for the Satyr. Not super happy with the results, but I am getting closer to what I want. But I'm still not doing well on full-length shots of this guy - I definitely need to set up some sort of indoor lighting stage.
I also changed his eyes out to these Volks metallics in baby blue. Not sure why I'm loving this boy when he's looking so sickly, but I am. He's very much The Darkling right now.

I've just gone completely over the horns of the waning moon for this boy, or crawled into the deeply moist woods on its carpet of decay, or sunk beneath the dark waves, or descended that circular stairway to dreams, waking and dead. Whatever metaphor suits....I think he could fit any one of them and possibly more. For such an incredibly unique doll, he's got versatility in bucketloads. I know I've mentioned a similar feeling before - with the Perfect ARTiculated Male, the SA Saint - but it's very strong now; I could totally imagine myself with just three dolls. Completely. And that's actually a good thing. It's been exciting to take a step back and ponder who is here and why. My consummate list-making enjoys such ponderation.
I am a teensy bit frustrated that my SD17 arrived on the same day - but even arriving the same month as this guy would have been difficult. The Satyr is all-consuming. At least Alain is, in every conceivable way, this boy's opposite. That's good. The doll who is suffering most from Sard's presence is, unfortunately, the Dollstown Elysia boy. Hmmm...not sure what to do about that.
And how come none of you mentioned Soom's "I Believe In Angels" tee to me???? *hard look*

I'm finally going to get to the fabric store today - I don't have my hopes up too high, but I know what I'm looking for. Although I would adore a ginger, kilt-wearin' Satyr, I think I'm going to stay with this current look for a while. I need to rip the prototype leggings off him and try two new ideas.
lionhearts and kiyakatori both mentioned in yesterday's post, that the boy looked "different." More melancholy and/or innocent. This is affected by the set of his horns.

Much experimenting with "hornset" but that's about it - oh, and he's wearing a new wig - my favourite jpopdolls mohair. Yep, the same "look" that SA Saint Junkie Angel sports. Gives this guy definitely more of a forlorn rather than menacing look. IMO. Still haven't gotten to the fabric store, maybe tomorrow! And, joey, my soom hands finally came unglued.

Beginning to find that breather I mentioned last week. Although I did have to postpone the maternity session I had scheduled in SF for last weekend, because of teenage domestic drama here. (Don't ask - we were all purveyors of teenage drama at one time.) So, I've got to find time for that this week or next. But I'm looking forward to it! And that's a good thing. Me and Obligation never work well together.
And Phil Dalhausser? Yes. Please. Click his name. Now. OMFG.
Uh, so, yeah. Totally supporting Nude Olympics. Totally. Don't let anyone convince you that the Female Gaze isn't a Real Thing. We've been Looking at the Male Creature for ten thousand plus years and it is part of our Sexuality.
Doll rearranging going gangbusters here. Two dolls sold in one week. Go, me. Now I need to sell an Elysium head and an Unoa faceplate and then....consider letting go of another whole doll or two. I don't think I'll ever sell accouterments again - just putting a box under my worktable and tossing the odd wig or shoe in there until GoGaDoll 09 when I can sellsellsellsell at the Yard Sale. (I know that's not what it's called but I'm trying to type this and google/ogle the Thin Beast at the same time. Can't think.)
I have opened my Alain and I'm in mad passionate love. I feel a bit badly for the Big Boy because the Darkling Satyr has essentially pushed everyone out of his admittedly strange light, so the SD17 is sitting patiently on a bureau upstairs awaiting my renewed interest.
I'm going to try to hit the fabric store on Wednesday and see if I can't find the perfect fun fur - I want curly Tibetan - to create the perfect leggings. These black prototypes are fine, but I know what I want/need now. The other option is to commission some leather jerkin style leggings and remove the hooves to permanently put them on him and then leave them. Or the wooded Great Kilt....He's wearing a long, black jpopdolls today and it suits. He is distracting me sitting here on the computer tower looking very...contemplative. I love the Sard face - just love this mold!!!

I finally took the time to do photos of several of my dolls. Besides Jasper, I took photos of Dana, Chelsie, Eden & Dezra. I'll post them in separate posts over the next few days. Maybe Eden will be next, she's a Soom Gena head that is sharing my Kyrie's body.

Two big boxes, two big boys. One I've been "shelling" in one form or another since I was eight years old and first became Aware of my Muse. The other I just fell madly and hopelessly in love with at Dollectable - so, I opted to open my Muse first. And I'm floored and overcome with joy. This doll is just exquisite. I cannot gush on enough about Soom and their creative team. He's proportionately perfect and his face is just gorgeous, hauntingly gorgeous. I'm not quite sure, yet, what I will be ultimately doing with my blank boy (my face-up and brushed boy won't arrive until the end of the month) but for now he's just wearing MP feather eyes and blushed lightly black and grey. I do have a fantasy about having a fully freckled ginger satyr...but we will see.
These are only head shots - I'm working on his minimal "costuming" and should be done this afternoon!

I have much more to say about Sard and his arrival and the hours long preparation in regards to the re-stringing and magnetizing. But I won't spoil any flisters own experience! Just be prepared - glue and a string puller!!!
